In the treasure of national cultural heritage, antique is a kind of special cultural heritage - the crystallization of the historical, cultural, ideological, technical and artistic values of each period of history.
Since ancient times, antiques have soon become a passion for antique lovers. Loving "old beauty" and finding the "ancient traces" through the relics of the ancestors has become an elegant amusement and developed into a trend of collecting antiques since the early twentieth century.
The birth of the Antiquity Association of Ho Chi Minh City in 2009 (formerly known as the Southern Antique Club), has brought together individuals who share similar interests in collecting and studying antiquity as well as preserving and promoting the value of cultural heritage of the nation. The Association has also made many contributions to the socialization of museum activities in Ho Chi Minh City.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of the Antiquity Association of Ho Chi Minh City and the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Day (23 November), the History Museum (Ho Chi Minh City) coordinated with the Antiquity Association of Ho Chi Minh City to organize a specialized exhibition entitled "Old beauty and ancient traces" with more than 130 artifacts marking the historical and cultural milestones of Vietnam and the cultural exchanges in the area.
