The jar is used to contain ritual wine.
The jar is in the shape of a galic. The whole body is stereotyped with dragon and rhombus patterns. The bottom of the jar is engraved with an inscription of the following content:
御製
靜則有守動則有用經濟合宜文武道共
明命己亥
倣漢山龍溫壺
Literal Translation:
Made by the Emperor
Available upon needs, suitable for all uses, employed by all courtiers.
