The Buddha statue is carved out of tamanu wood and stands on a lotus pedestal. The elegant statue, the head covered with a round hat, on the top of the head there is a pointed tip (probably a unisa). Long ears dotted to shoulder. Two arms outstretched with mudra posture. The clothes stretched down to the feet. The statue was found in Loi My - Dong Thap.
The statue is typical for Southeast Asian Buddhist sculpture in general and Oc Eo Culture in particular, remains relatively intact to this day. The statue has been displayed in many famous museums around the world.
The Buddha statue is recognized as a National Treasure (phase 1) according to Decision No. 1426/QD-TTg, Hanoi, October 1st, 2012 of the Prime Minister.
