The Buddha statue is carved out of merawan wood, standing in a two-storey lotus pedestal. There is a trace of unisa on the top of the head, spiraling hair. The statue wears a long monk’s robe. The statue was found in Sa Dec - Dong Thap.
This statue is an exclusive artifact with high dimensions and is elegant. The symbol represents the art of carving wooden Buddhism in Oc Eo culture in the Southern region.
The Buddha statue is recognized as a National Treasure (phase 2) according to Decision No. 2599/QD-TTg, Hanoi, December 30th, 2013 of the Prime Minister.
