The statue is made of sandstone, showing the form of a bust, bare chest. The towering bun part is tall. A harmonious face, curved eyebrows connected big eyes, bridge straight nose, and smiling slightly mouth. The statue was found in Huong Que - Quang Nam.
According to Champa legend, the goddess Devi named Rija Kula Hara Devi, was the wife of King Indravarman II, the founder of the Dong Duong Dynasty, the 9th century. Because Goddess Devi has meritorious services to the country, especially she has compassion and love for the poor and orphans. After her death, she was deified by King Jaya Shinhavarman I and erected the stupa.
The Devi Goddess statue is recognized as a National Treasure (phase 1) by Decision No. 1426/QD-TTg, Hanoi, October 1st, 2012 of the Prime Minister.
